Oracle has announced its partnership with Microsoft now includes an integration between its Digital Assistant and Microsoft Teams. Organizations can now leverage Oracle Cloud Applications through AI-powered conversations in Teams. Suhas Uliyar, Vice President of AI and Digital Assistant at Oracle, explained how enterprise customers can benefit: “Using Oracle Digital Assistant, business users can simply and conversationally interact with business applications directly from their Microsoft Teams interface just as they would collaborate with their fellow employees or other productivity tools. “Completing daily work tasks becomes much more efficient as the AI-trained conversational access doesn’t require additional employee training on different applications. This is yet another way we are enabling customers to run mission-critical enterprise workloads across Microsoft 365 and Oracle Cloud.” Users can access Oracle Digital Assistant by enabling it through the app store. Once installed, users can leverage the assistant to query cloud applications through bot conversations. Bhrighu Sareen, General manager of the Microsoft Teams Platform, says this collaboration allows users to get more done without needing to switch between apps. “Together, Oracle Digital Assistant and Teams enable our customers to transform existing workflows and save time,” says Sareen. “This integration reduces context change for people since it eliminates the need to switch between applications, enabling them to complete tasks like viewing a sales pipeline in Oracle CX without leaving Teams.”
Cloud Partnership
As mentioned, Microsoft and Oracle tied up a cloud interoperability partnership earlier this year. It was a slight surprise considering Microsoft and Oracle are two competing cloud rivals, so no-one predicted a link up. In fact, Microsoft has previously actively attempted to entice Oracle users onto its Azure platform. Back in 2016, the company offered to migrate Oracle Cloud users to its own SQL Server database solution for free.
