Back in November, Microsoft introduced us to a new enterprise-grade endpoint security solution known as Microsoft Defender for Business. Microsoft Defender for Business provides additional security tools to protect against threats while also placing vulnerability management in the control of businesses. It has a suite of abilities including antivirus features, attack reduction tools, and remediation settings. According to the company Defender for Business does all the heavy lifting, so organizations do not need learn how to use the tool. Other features include endpoint detection, automation, manual responses, and detection. Defender for Business elevates security from traditional antivirus to next-generation protection, endpoint detection and response, threat and vulnerability management, and more. It offers simplified configuration and management with intelligent, automated investigation and remediation. Defender for Business helps you to protect against cybersecurity threats including malware and ransomware across Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android devices,” Microsoft said last year.
General Availability
It is for organizations of 300 employees or less. Customers can purchase Defender for Business as a standalone product, at a cost of $3 each month per use. Microsoft 365 Business Premium subscribers will see the solution within the “Endpoint” section of the M365 Defender Security Portal over the coming weeks. For those who are joining Microsoft 365 Premium as a new customer, the Defender for Business tool is available right now. Microsoft says there are plans to launch a standalone version of the packaging, but it will not arrive until later this year. Microsoft also has plans to release a so-called “standalone” Microsoft Defender for Business product, which “will be coming later this year,” the announcement indicated, without further elaboration. Tip of the day: Due to the various problems that arise with microphones, it can often be necessary to perform a mic test. Microsoft’s OS doesn’t make it especially intuitive to listen to microphone playback or play the microphone through speakers. In our tutorial we show you how to hear yourself on mic with just a few clicks.
